Lexi, is the princess of alternative rock, punk, and metalcore rising artist from Houston, Texas who displays a haunting and soulful presence with her ethereal belts and intrinsic production that exposes her true persona of a transformative and beautifully tragic artistic expertise.

Lexi intentionally weaves the complexities of the thematic elements of gothic and dark imagery that are inexplicably notable within the literary and musical genre to establish her signature sound. The storytelling and narrative lyricism is a major part of her discography and in tune with composing a sonic landscape that is visionary that accompanies the track into a movie scene. An array of themes are persistent within her songs which all mainly are inspired by the dark fatalities and literature themes dealing with vulnerable writing such as heavy emotional intensities, isolated settings, and psychological despair.  If you’re a fan of artists such as Evanescence, Maggie Lindemann, Charlotte Sands, Halsey, or Lana Del Rey, you will appreciate the artistry and visual works of Lexi.

Lexi released her debut EP, “everything ends, eventually” back in May 2025 that features 6 tracks total with the inclusion of cover tracks that represent her personality and musicality in one of the most compelling manner. Though she released previous singles before the EP ranging from 2023 and early 2025 with tracks, “them changes”, “ducati”, “summer heartbreak”, “crime!”, “cool kids”, and “haunted by you” all demonstrate her growth and ever evolving presence as an rising indie artist. The songs all elicit a mirage and broken mosaics of a narrative story that deals with heartbreak, vulnerability, endless rage, and hope for more even if some are tribute covers, she makes them completely her own.

An unexpected breakout moment for Lexi started with a passive idea about writing a song about one of her favorite tv characters, Sam Winchester from the drama fantasy series, “Supernatural”. The track is called, “Soulless Sam” that refers to the personality change of the characters arc after his soul is left in hell and left him without the ability to function as the lighthearted person he once was. Right off the start, the instrumentation begins with a guitar driven hard rock, numbing bass lines, and cutthroat drums that solicited the heavy energy, angst, and rash epitome of the track going forward. It is gritty and demanding upon listening as it takes you through a whirlwind of emotions that takes up on the lifeless and lack of empathy and grace of the character of Winchester. The chorus line, “Love me until I’m numb, just to throw it away, just to walk out the grave. Look into your eyes you're dead inside just a bullet away, nothing to say…you’re soulless" shows the reflection of a hollow individual whose life and demeanor has been shattered and demolished to the point of no return. It is inherently a hypnotic and vocal melody that is emotionally dark and nostalgic in Lexi’s behalf that is the sole indicator of the success of the song and the ability to curate deeply personable traits that embodies the faults of the character to its extent.

The latest single, “corpsebride” released in June of 2026 manifests its own name from the remarkable cult fan favorite stop-motion animated film of the same name directed by Tim Burton. Although the name takes after the movie, the songwriting delves deeper into the misfortune of a mourning widowed love much like the complex yet compassionate character of Emily. The track begins with a dark and liminal bass line that relinquishes into a shadowy yet post-punk sound in regards to its harrowing allusive baritone. From the first listen, the instrumentation favors that of bands such as The Cure or Joy Division while its progressive tempo invites a more dreamy atmosphere. The belts of Lexi flourish with a rich sultry and delicate high notes that contrast with the doom and gloom of the rock instrumentation that incites a push and pull dynamic that illuminates the humanity between life and death.

The conceptual aspect of the song inherently composes a wearying undertone of a love that undergoes a bleak and lifeless decay that is formidable to all of one’s senses. It becomes an all consuming and obsessive affair  until the daylight is overcasted by an obscure darkness that hangs low with a promise of an inescapable fate. The chorus line, “So cold, everyone is faceless, everything is tainted by your touch, falling on the pavement, I can almost taste it. I’m so close to the other side. I’m half alive” presumes its overwhelming and torturous aftermath of a betrayal and lack of harmonious love. The songwriting on this track is melancholic and deliberately showcasing the burden of a star crossed relationship.

The storybuilding and cultivation of Lexi’s vulnerable songwriting and signature blend of her alternative rock sound is built intensely with a precision and a passion that truly makes a statement on its own. It is a scenery that invokes an utter compelling escape that transcends place and time. Along with the haunting melodies, dark instrumentation, and an exposition of a storyline that follows from beginning to the end with twists and turns. The talent of Lexi’s vocals is the driving force that immediately attracts your attention because of her siren-like and velvet timbre that leaves you ghastly and levitating. The approach of her music creates a spectacle of her own crumbling castle with the various different melodies, rhythms, arrangements, and stark appreciation for gothic elements all form together beautifully.

It's noticeable to see how much Lexi truly appreciates and understands the works of gothic imagery and its long history. Her knowledge stems from the roots of the mournful poetry of Edgar Allen Poe to the visuals of renowned director, Tim Burton, along with the early experimental beginnings of the gloomy goth rock genre. In every aspect, there is an inspiration and acknowledgment of the gothic macabre that integrates her artistry. Lexi has the gift of establishing a representation and feeling of what madness and dark obsession can possess and its great divide within the use of romanticism and isolation to portray such a distinctive illustration of a tortured soul who rises from the ashes and reborn into a spiritual figure. The process of her songwriting and sound is allowing Lexi to reach her fullest potential as she explores and discovers her own perspectives and takes each stride with a fundamental purpose as an evolving musician and a powerful woman in the rock scene.

We had the chance to be able to interview Lexigotdripp for With The Band Magazine. Thank you so much for taking the time out to collaborate with us. You can read the full exclusive interview below!

WTBM: What was your first introduction into the punk rock/metal/hardcore scene? Was there a pivotal memory that you remember during this discovery and its impact on you until this day? Did this inspire your dream as a rock vocalist?

Lexi: “Growing up I listened to a lot of different music! I didn’t really fully realize my love for rock in general until I got older”.

WTBM: You recently released a new song, "Corpse Bride" and it is such an ethereal and hauntingly beautiful track that is inspired by Tim Burton's film. What was your approach into creating this song and making it come to life? What about the film or the genre of gothic/fantasy as a whole gravitates you as a person?

Lexi: It really was a random thought! I really love the movie and write a lot about hopeless devotion and I wanted to write a song about being so consumed by someone that you would die.”

WTBM: You released your debut ep "everything ends, eventually" back in 2025 with six tracks that contains flawless covers. Looking back to this time, what was your experience like developing this project? Was there anything you learned about yourself during this process and its future direction of your signature sound?

Lexi: “Honestly, that ep was just something to say goodbye to covers and hello to who I was as an artist even though I have not the slightest clue at the time! We recorded it at the infamous Dark Horse Studios in Nashville, Tennessee where I first started my career”.

WTBM: Being able to perform live is one of the most exhilarating moments for any artist, has there been any shows you've done recently where you were magnetized by the audience and their response to your music? How have you evolved in owning your stage presence?

Lexi: “Everytime I play a show it reminds me why I absolutely love what I do! I headlined a show for What’s it Fest back in May and the reaction really had me taken aback. People genuinely loved what I was doing and were jumping, dancing and just having the time of their lives”.

WTBM: Being a female vocalist in the rock scene, there is always a misconception and underrepresentation due to the male majority based genre. As you advance in your musical career and experiment with different sounds/styles that best represent your identity, truth, and vigor as an artist, has there been a monumental moment where you've been like, "this is what my vision is and what I want to stand for" and not giving into peer pressure?

Lexi: “I started my career at 18 and I feel like in the beginning I had a problem where I just couldn’t speak up and advocate for what I wanted and my vision, so I think as I get older I have started to be able to stand firm on what I believe will make me succeed in my career. I refuse to let anyone ever tell me who they think I should be and what my music should be. Luckily, I have the most wonderful team that also stands with me and my decisions”.

WTBM: What's the most meaningful song you've written and how did that change your perspective and your ability to view the storytelling/situation with a dark and cinematic artistic lens?

Lexi: “I’ve been writing a lot recently for something special and probably everything I have been doing has been extremely meaningful and intentional. We’ve really been trying to play around with fully submerging the listener into our world!”

WTBM: The production and heavy guitars on "Soulless Sam"  is incredibly mastered along with its catchy melodies that highlights your voice in many various ways. It is inspired by one of the best tv shows of all time, "Supernatural", that quickly gained traction online. What was the response like from fans when you released the track? Did you expect for the song to explode like it did?

Lexi: “Thank you! Me and my producer Wilson McBeath kinda wrote ‘Soulless Sam’ as a joke one day while I was rewatching the show. I really didn’t expect anything from it at first but I of course had to post it on my socials as usual and little did I know how niche that was! I haven’t gotten that much love in a long time and it confirmed that I was on the right path”.

WTBM: Lexi, you have a beautiful collection of ornate and artistic tattoo sleeves that really signify your personal style and aesthetic. What is your favorite one that you've gotten and is there any backstory to any of them that you would like to share?

Lexi: “I think I love all of them equally they help me express myself as a person and the artist that you see on stage”.

WTBM: What can you tell us about your new upcoming track, "i'm yours, forevermore" that is set to be released on July 17th? Was there a particular influence or moment that drove the inspiration of the new song? Is this a glimpse of a small highlight that is part of a full EP/album?

Lexi: “I wrote this song almost as a goodbye to something I was holding onto for the longest time. It was based off a poem that I wrote inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, it’s about the push and pull of a relationship that I experienced a lot through out the years”.

WTBM: Lexi, you carry such an innate talent for writing and a soulful voice that would be suitable for the big screen. If you had to make a song or soundtrack to any movie what would it be?

Lexi:“I think if I could put my song ‘SUCCUBUS’ in Jennifer‘s Body that would fit so well!!”

WTBM: What has been one of the most memorable/exciting moments in the recording studio that you look back fondly on or always recall? Are there any future projects and music that fans can look forward to?

Lexi: “I spend a lot of my time in the studio or in writes with my producer. I really love just making the memories and bringing to life these songs that were just ideas in my head! i’m yours, forevermore comes out July 17th and I think it marks the end of something and maybe the beginning of something new… I’ll be announcing something special very very soon!!!”
