Angie J’s Album Release Party at Axelrad in Houston
Angie J’s Album Release Party at Axelrad in Houston with Lavi Bly, Moseph, Exit Bag and Navi and the Conversation Pit. RnB Houston based artist with 70’s and 90’s inspiration at Axelrad in Houston, Texas on March 27th, 2026.
I stepped through Axelrad’s wooden doors into a former grocery store transformed into a beer garden. An open outdoor space with wooden tables laid before a large stage and multicolored hammocks drifting around a neon-lit tree. However, I was focused on following the night's more intimate festivity, separate from the themed Noches Calientes, an anticipated show only able to be seen past a curtain hidden from view. I slipped left, taking a few steps past the curtains to find a staircase lit up by a spinning disco ball leading into the attic.
It was a quaint room colored lights spilling into the darkness above the small mainstage, with neatly lined guitars, a drum set, and mic stands, I strolled around the small room observing the concertgoers gathered anxiously waiting for Angie J’s arrival to celebrate the release party of her highly anticipated album, “Letters From Eden.” The energy was calm, but the air thrummed with excitement the minute she drifted on stage with a smile, donning studded brown boots and a blood-red guitar. She introduced herself and members Ed, Skyler, William, and Raymon—all trailing behind her and began to play a half-hour set of smooth rock, my favorite song being ‘Is That a Crime?’ The set finished with a bang, friends and family shouting the loudest as she stepped out from backstage with a cake prepped for all to share.
The end of her performance was followed by the amazing bands Lavi Bly, Moseph, Exit Bag, Navi and the Conversation. You can find her new album and more music on Spotify. Be sure to check out her upcoming show on May 5th, 2026, at Axelrad.
